Railgun ensures that the connection between your origin server and the CloudFlare network is as fast as possible. Railgun achieves a 99.6% compression ratio for previously uncacheable web objects by using techniques similar to those used in the compression of high-quality video. This results in an average 200% additional performance increase.
How do I enable Railgun?
Firstly you must have activated CloudFlare on your account, as outlined here.
Activating Railgun is quite simple.
- Log in to cPanel
- Navigate to the CloudFlare option within cPanel
- Click on the Performance button, which will take you to a screen with the following options
- Make sure that "Sydney ICT cPanel RG" is selected, and it says "On". If it doesn't say either, click on the fields and change them appropriately.
Now your website is enabled with Railgun!
